Popular actress Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, was arrested by some men of the Osun state police

According to reports, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry and her brother were arrested at Olaiya junction, Osogbo, Osun state, by some heavily armed policemen on Wednesday, April 27.
The policemen were reportedly on a stop-and-search operation, when a police cap was spotted on the dashboard of her car. They reportedly fired multiple shots into the air before arresting her.
Mercy had been pulled over, which reportedly got her angry and irritated because she didn’t expect to be confronted by the police, and proceeded to pour insults on the policemen who in turn seized her mobile phone.
The exchange between Mercy and the policemen attracted a huge crowd, which prompted the policemen to call for backup, to avoid an attack from the teeming crowd. Mercy’s husband who according to reports is also a policeman, was called and he pleaded for her release.
According to an eyewitness who identified himself as Adedeji, they had stopped Mercy’s car because it was tinted. Here’s what he said below:
“When the policemen got to the junction, they went to the parked car and ordered the driver to roll down the glass of the car because it was tinted and they could not identify those in the car. Immediately the driver rolled the glasses down Mercy Aigbe rushed out of the car to confront the policemen. They eventually took her and the boy who drove, away.”
Her brother was reportedly pushed into the back of the patrol van, leaving only Mercy in her car which was driven away by a policeman.
